Hello all fellow Windsor Boys' School Boat Club OLD BOYS, and parents of OLD BOYS.

 

Welcome to the RE-LAUNCH of The Windsor Boys' School Boat Club ALUMNI. You know, that place where you speant many an hour pounding up and down the River Thames when you were at school! or maybe hours watching your son racing from the tow-path often in feezing wet conditions!

 

Being an old boy myself, I remember very well all the training, the cold mornings, the gym, but I also remember the racing, the regattas, the long summer days, the National Schools and Henley Royal Regatta, and as I remember them, I also remember very clearly the adrenaline, the friendship the team work and all the life long skills that rowing, as much as anything else in my life has taught me. My parents certainly still recall all those days with great enthusiasim too!

 

I know that from speaking to other old boys and old boys parents that there are many out there who also gained so much from rowing. They also remember how much enjoyment they got out of the sport, and the buzz everyone had from doing something really well. Windsor Boys School Boat Club was feared throughout the rowing land, and we LOVED it! With Mr Morrell as our icon, and our mentor, we were, in our minds, unbeatable! Whether that is actually true or just the minds of teenagers at work in their own immortal world who knows, but one thing is for sure; we believed in ourselves because we trained hard, sculled well, and were prepared to, as Mr Morrell always tells the new J14s "follow our mates over the trenches!"

 

Now with a bit more help from technology my aim is to get all the old boys of The Windsor Boys' School Boat Club in touch with the old club, to maybe meet up every now and again, to relieve all those old tales of rowing glory and to show all the old boys out there that the club is as strong as ever, with more boys rowing, more trips and more teamwork, and still a fearsome reputation in the rowing world.

 

SO please fill in the form below so that we have your details. I would like them for two reasons. Firstly so that I can tell you regulaly all about what is going on at WBSBC, and secondaly, to highlight the needs that the club now has. I promise not to bombard you with lots of requests for money like many organisations, but maybe you might know someone who could help us. And if you do feel like helping us then fantastic. After all, once a Windsor Boys School Boat Club Boy, always a Windsor Boys School Boat Club Boy.
