Well done everyone this year, I hope you all have enjoyed racing this year and are ready to get back to training in September. Hopefully next we can all thrive to achieve higher than before, we must understand that the coaches this year have been pushed to their limits and that lack of support has made it increasingly difficult to deal with. However as athletes we must remember that coaching will not always be there, even when the coaches try their best to do so. We as athletes must become independent and take it upon ourselves to train harder and be the best we can. That’s what makes us better athletes, we can’t be spoon fed all the time so it comes down to you, to make the most of what you get from your coaches and to go and spend time on it (nurture it).
Next season will be different and again we could see that help is limited, but that doesn’t make it GAME OVER, that gives you the opportunity to prove yourself and make a name for yourself in this boat club. Enjoy the summer and come back with the right frame of mind, which will allow you to move forward in this sport.
We all want to win Henley next year so let’s go and do it. |

Hello everyone, As your new Captain of Boats it's my duty with my team of Vice Captains (George Jupp Rowland and Lewis Sloan) to bring new ideas and new ways of going about things within the Boat Club. Just recently new ideas to help fund raise for the Training Camp/ Boat Club this year have aroused. My team had the idea to do a Car wash and a 24hrs Ergometer Challenge at Heathrow Terminal 3 with also many Bag packing opportunities as well.
This is the first time I have written a Captain's blog, I will do my best to write out new blogs regularly, as were at that time of year when the most important Head races and the build up to the Regatta season approaches near.
All the boys should know by now if they’re racing this weekend at Thames Valley Trials Head at Dorney Lake this Sunday. Good luck to all who are racing if it’s only for 1 race or 3, bring plenty of food, drink and kits as it could be an unpleasant day.
I expect everyone to help with loading and unloading the trailer no one has the authority to stand around and do nothing. |

Good Luck to the Junior 16 crew of Harry Johncox, Lewis Sloan, Jack Clark (NO E THE OLD CAPTAIN CANT SPELL :P) and Alex Wilson as they will be heading up to Nottingham for there chance of being selected for the GB team for a race against France, later on this year. The j16s have had a fantastic year so far as they continue to come from strength to strength after winning gold at the National Schools Regatta and then to win again at Marlow International Regatta and also to pre Qualify for the Henley Royal Regatta. This has given the crew high hopes for the trials. Good Luck boys, race hard and hopefully we will be watching you representing GB later on this year. |

As the season progresses we draw closer and closer to the main event. Henley Royal Regatta is around the corner with only Marlow International Regatta to be raced this weekend. Marlow will be the last opportunity for the boys to put their best possible performance out on a side by side racing course at Dorney Lake, before pre qualifiers at Henley.
'Come On Boys', Its time to step up to the plate and make a move, we've only got one shot at this regatta, It only comes once a year and all the training we do all year round is for this specific moment . Too long has been that Windsor Boys Boat Club have gone without winning, It's been over 10 years in fact that we haven't won the event. Finally we have crews that can step up to the challenge and hopefully If all goes well, we will witness success in the making.
So lads It's now or never lets do It, make yourself proud and just race your heart out. Good Luck!! |
